OSVR , acronyms Open -Source Virtual Reality , is a software development kit (SDK ) with which you can create “universal” content for Virtual Reality ( VR) .

This project, led by the company Razer , aims to become the software platform encompassing , for developers, the ability to create content for all types of virtual reality goggles and , as the name suggests , is open source.

Thus by OSVR SDK and with a few modifications of code, the contents of virtual reality generated through this platform will be available to the wide variety of devices emerging in the market for VR .
OSVR SDK is now available (but with limited access to developers , ie , through registration and authorization ) and the forecast is to open to the public during the second quarter of 2015 .
OSVR has its own hardware development kit ( HDK -OSVR OSVR Hacker Kit- Dev ), also open source: a gadget like the Oculus DK2 with FullHD screen of 5.5 inches, sensors ( accelerometer , gyroscope and compass) and integrated USB 3.0 connections . Its price is $ 199 (scheduled to be available during the month of June 2015 ) .
