Virtual reality headsets have started a wave of creativity and tech engineers from all over the world are now racking their brains to come up with new devices and technologies that will make VR even more engaging and immersive. Here are the ones that impressed us:

  1. Birdly

Birdly is a full-body flight simulator designed to make you feel like you can fly as a bird. It works with the Oculus Rift. It actually allows you to pump both wings with little effort, but to feel the resistance of the wind by the way of a fan and of the wings as the pistons provide some resistance. Yes, you need to put some effort into it, but it’s definitely worth it.

  1. Virtuix Omni

What’s the point of having a great VR headset if you can’t move around? That’s what Virtuix thought when it created a virtual reality interface that allows you to move freely in a game. You can stand up and use your own feet to walk and run offering a completely new experience. The Omni is available for pre-order after its successful Kickstarter campaign. Oh, and you might also want to check out the Cyberith Virtualizer that allows you to jump also.

  1. Control VR

Control VR is a really cool gadget that allows you to use your hands to interact with any virtual reality. It’s a next-generation wearable technology that allows you to get really creative and feel immersed in whatever virtual reality you choose to play with. The video is pretty self-explanatory.

  1. Glyph

We love our Oculus Rift headset, but are quite mesmerized by the Glyph also, one of the latest VR headsets on the market. It offers a compelling visual experience and high-quality audio. It also looks really good, like something you would probably wear in public without feeling too weird. The headphones are noise canceling, it has a great display and a built-in mic. It’s in Beta development right now, let’s see where it goes from here.

  1. Structure

It is equally exciting to be able to add you own 3D content in a VR and that where the Structure Sensor comes into the picture. Structure is a 3D sensor for mobile devices (works great on an iPad)  that allows you to capture dense 3D models. This one is on its way to us and we can’t wait to test it. We’ll let you know what we think about it.
