What those two have in common, or better said why would you put those two together?
My wife and I are looking to buy a house for some time. The main problem is that we don’t have time to really go out and see everything we find in ads. I’ts a really time consuming thing. You have to see where the house is situated, what’s around it, How much land it has, How the house is situated on that land. How’s the plan of the house. In ads they gave you a sketch, but unless you are somehow a magician you will never know how small it really feels a 18 square meters living room until you get in there and you see it with your eyes.
While going and seeing .. around 30 houses i was imagining how cool would have been to have everything set up with an Oculus .. and see it all in Virtual Reality. I don’t need more than 10 minutes to each house to know if I like it or not. Imagine I’ve lost about 2-3 hours for each house. With a VR setup I could see around 10-18 houses in the same 2-3 hours. How much time I would gain.
I imagine this time earned would be beneficial for the real estate companies as well. Imagine how much time they’ve lost .. going on the field with each client. Imagine how much time they could earn with a VR setup somewhere in their office! You only have to go to their office, you put that helmet on, you explain to the realtor what you want .. and they shuffle tens of houses in front of your eyes without leaving that office.
You can see yourself in there, see how that space feels like. You can instantly know if the living room is to small, or the roof is to close, or the windows are to narrow. If the realtor really respects himself and his clients, He would make a 1:1 copy of the house, you will even know if you like all those little small touches like colors and textures.
I do believe in Virtual Reality future and the multiple applications it could be used. It comes with great joy to let you know that TimeWalk will also have a Real Estate component to it’s major platform. Something that will let you see the house in relation to all the other elements(what neighborhood is in , what stores you have around you, how far is the closest Cinema, elevation of the courtyard/street, etc).
Stay tuned on our blog and social channels and we’ll let you know what and how we do on our platform!
Death – the only certain thing in life.
We all imagined what it would be like if we could cheat death. What it would be like to become immortal. What it would be like to talk with our lost siblings. In the future .. while AI is developing more and more, with all the virtual reality innovation, it will be possible to store and keep the mind of our beloved after they pass away.
Yeah .. I know there are many moral issues. There are many philosophical questions .. and the sole answer to “should we do this” deserves tons of debates. Is there a soul? Would that one be “downloaded” with the memory? .. (pff… tons of philosophical and theological questions… )
Would I want my mind to be stored? Would I keep living in a VR environment after my body is gone? Do I want that? … the truth is YES, I WOULD LOVE TO LIVE .. even on a circuit board… after my body is obsolete 🙂 Is that moral? I don’t know, I don’t even care 😀
While I’m sure the medical-technological advancements will be huge in this century .. (we will live longer, androids will be a reality) we won’t reach immortality in our flesh and blood bodies.
We, humans, searched for prolonging our life since our very beginnings. We searched for the Holly Grail, “living water”, miracle plants. We’ve always been fascinated by immortality, we invented “the afterlife” stories, everlasting angels and demons, gods, vampires, all kings off immortal heroes and demons, hell and paradise, even Jesus Christ walks on death. All that because we don’t want to bow in the face of all mighty death.
I don’t believe the soul (if there is such a thing) will be transferable, but the mind, with all your memories and knowledge, will be accessible to others after your death. I might have seen to many SciFi movies .. I might be just a dreamer, but I hope my grand grand grand children would hear from “me” stories of our days .. as seen trough my eyes (not so interesting to anyone else ).
I guess in the future, we will keep searching for a way to cheat death, and technology seams the best way. I’m sure Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence are the 3 paths we should take to achieve immortality.. or something close to it.
We all woke up a bit late, mostly because of the party we had .. the night before 😛
For this last day at Gamescom our itinerary was not that full. Because we did our job well in the first days .. we only went to Gamescom a few hours .. for final pictures, touches ..etc.
back to Gamescom :
We then went to the chocolate museum in Koln .. we bought some stuff for our girls back home.
wandering trough Koln:
Because our main task was to prospect the exhibits for potential partners You would imagine the second day would be boring compared to the firs one. Nothing more far from the trough. The real fun just started.
We made an incredible number of friends. Overall people loved our Tshirts .. People loved our AdrenaPure app.
We spoke with many exhibitors here are some of the ones we liked more:
– IGDA – a great community of international game developers
– Bee7.com – the guys who made Talking Tom
– Reality 51 – Polish company .. they had an interesting robot and a cool app
– Mixamo – our partners, now part of Adobe Family
– Durovis Dive – Durovis Dive family turns your mobile device into a virtual reality headset
– Indiegala.com – a cool team from Italy with a small smart game .. we really made friends with them
– We lost some time at PlayStation stand .. Bogdan tried hard to have us on their meeting list .. we could not obtain that 🙁
– Carl Zeiss > they where really impressed by our AdrenaPure app .. and we where impressed by the quality of their device(VR One -VR glasses for smartphone) and lenses
– UNITY – those guys where impressive. They took time talking with all our team.. regarding each aspect of our product.. and the problems we had moving to unity 5. Also .. Bogdan managed to steal some promises regarding their help with our future marketing.
We played a bit at Xbox stands, We went and made some pictures at Forza Motorsport stand with that incredible car.
After that we made some pictures at the stand of Assassins Creed … Alex really had nice time with them .. loosing his head 😛
Me and Ovi and Chris where present at
Total War: Warhammer Gameplay Gamescom 2015
The guys from DeepSilver .. where so kind to let us make some pictures with the set from HOMEFRONT.
The fun rally begin when we found free chairs at blizzard … and we started plaing WOW… my install was in German .. so I haven’t played much, but the guys had some fun there:)
Some Cosplay chicks … wanted to make a picture with a true orc, I could not refuse:P
And here is the craziness from the wargaming.net stand …you can see the guys going crazy 😀
our guys .. coming home with their war spoils 😛
finally .. the tiredness after the whole day :))
This is the second year TimeWalk team manages to be present at the mighty Gamescom. We struggled between updating to latest unity, our kickstarter campaign for AdrenaPure and prospecting for possible partners, and we found time and budget for Gamescom.
I will try to describe each day as close as I can. Sorry guys for the delay .. we where way to tiered during those days and we really had a bad internet connection to our hotel(close to none). I made some notes during each day . .and I will try to put everything in there …with as many pictures and details as I can.
Day 1 – the travel day
We manage to fit all 6 of us into a Dacia and after 3 hours we caught our flight to Germany. I think the air holes are way bigger than the holes in Romania asphalt. The pilot managed to get us in Dortmund .. giving us plenty emotions to reflect and compare with our simulated reality from AdrenaPure app.
We had a really bad surprise from the car renting company when we arrived in the airport. First of all .. .they where late and second of it .. the guy was stinking .. and the third part .. the really big surprise … he was asking 1600 euros as a warranty for the car. I have to say that this amount was nowhere mentioned on the sale page when we paid for the rented car. (it was hidden on a another page .. on a link outside their website.. we only found that on Dortmund).
After 2 hours of negotiation .. we refused to pay that car and we found a nice lady @ Hertz which gave us a car .. bending a bit the usual rules 😀 We can’t thank you enough!
We managed to find and arrived at our hotel. The 2 rooms we booked where “lost” and they gave us 3 rooms. After a bit of fun with the guys we all went to bed to rest looking forward for the next day.
Day 2 – the first day at Gamescom
Day 3 – second day at at Gamescom
Day 4 – third day in Germany
We have received numerous comments regarding the fact that the Adrenapure demo is very short and the users can’t really get a sense of what is going on. Therefore we decided to extend the demo. We have added another scene to it, titled “Just Fly”, where the user is taken on a trip around Times Square, New York in a helicopter. The user has the option of speeding up or slowing down, depending on their preferences. So, whether you want to enjoy the sights or you want to get your blood pumping, Adrenapure can suit you.
The links are the same, meaning that you can use the same landing page to get your version of the new and improved Adrenapure app. If you like it, jump over to our Kickstarter page and join our efforts of making this into a full-featured application for both the Oculus Rift as well as for Android and iOS platforms.
What do you think of when you hear the words virtual reality (VR)? Do you imagine someone wearing a clunky helmet attached to a computer with a thick cable? Do visions of crudely rendered pterodactyls haunt you? Do you think of Neo and Morpheus traipsing about the Matrix? Or do you wince at the term, wishing it would just go away?
Opinions differ on what exactly constitutes a true VR experience, but in general it should include:
– Three-dimensional images that appear to be life-sized from the perspective of the user
– The ability to track a user’s motions, particularly his head and eye movements, and correspondingly adjust the images on the user’s display to reflect the change in perspective.
Virtual reality is the term used to describe a three-dimensional, computer generated environment which can be explored and interacted with by a person. That person becomes part of this virtual world or is immersed within this environment and whilst there, is able to manipulate objects or perform a series of actions.
Here is a more detailed video about Virtual Reality and How does it work, madde by the guys from Mashable
All of us heard of Oculus and Google Cardboard, but when did all this begun? Where this Virtual Reality comes from? Who thought first at this?
In the folowing 7-8 minutes you will get answers for those questions.
Whare it all began?
Why it faltered?
How this beautiful idea reborn?
Eight days ago, the great team from wearevr.com have featured our Adrenapure demo on their website. We are using this space to thank them for all they’ve done for us.
In 8 days on their website we managed to score an 4 out of 5 stars, and 191 downloads and 17 referrals. They also managed to send on our kickstarter page a lot of helicopter enthusiasts!
Remember you can find our demo on their website here
Thank you wearevr!
